FabriVISION Can Sample Thousands Of Points For 100% Inspection Of All Parts This reduces the time it takes to locate the errors in the fabrication process minimizing costly work and scrap. First Article Inspection (FAI) is reduced as much as 95%. Idle machine time can be reduced by hours, allowing valuable punching machines and lasers to be used more efficiently for greater production. Inspection reports can be automatically generated. SPC and JIT are Readily Implemented with FabriVISION

To achieve more cost effective management, MetalSOFT continues to develop software to streamline routine tasks. FabriVISION inspection reports are interfaced with SPC (statistical process control) software, so capability control can be charted. It allows for automatic collection of SPC data on test parts as well as customer parts.

JIT (just in time) production is more efficient, because FabriVISION cuts down on inspection time and shorter runs of parts do not bear the cost of a lengthy FAI.

User - Friendly Operation

To assure accuracy and repeatability FabriVISION first performs a totally automated self-calibration. Then with the push of a button, the moving bridge-type carriage passes the length of the part and stops automatically when it reaches the end. Thousands of microscopic light sensors, accurately positioned on semiconductor chips, view the part through eight precision ground lenses (CCD cameras). Areas of light and dark, indicating open or solid areas of the part, are detected, and dimensional data is transmitted to a computer.

FabriVISION's computer program analyzes the data to detect continuous paths that define edges and openings in the part. Overall size, hole locations, diameters, cutouts, notches and any other feature where an edge exists are noted. You can be assured that all hole sizes and locations are correct, because FabriVISION performs 100% inspection instead of just checking various X and Y dimensions.

A graphic representation of the part, along with dimensions for angles and coordinate values, is displayed on the 17" ultra-high resolution monitor. FabriVISION provides dimensions to the center of holes or arcs, and the angular relationship between all patterns and edges is determined without the need for user input or calculations.

Accuracy and repeatability of FabriVISION was established in a controlled environment using statistical methods. Identical conditions must exist and the procedure must be identical to verify FabriVISION's accuracy.
